By Muhammad Saad

Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi stated that positive changes have been observed in the province’s politics over the last 24 hours. Political leaders set aside their differences to unite on a single agenda for peace and security. He emphasized that following the 18th Amendment, powers rest with the provinces, and the political committee has granted all authorities to the Chief Minister. He shared these thoughts during a press conference at the Governor House in Peshawar.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi, in his press conference, emphasized that he has urged the Prime Minister to take the province’s security situation seriously. He mentioned plans to engage with the banned PTM through a committee for dialogue. Kundi affirmed that protesting is a democratic right for everyone, and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) firmly believes in democracy, having made sacrifices for it. He noted the judicial murder of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and the assassination of Benazir Bhutto, stating that despite these tragedies, the PPP has never opposed the state. He reiterated that the party has always championed the slogan “Pakistan Khappay.”

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi further stated that the PTM should become a part of the parliament. He emphasized that the PTM’s demands will be addressed through dialogue, and the legitimate demands of the PTM will be acknowledged. Kundi mentioned that a Pashtun jirga or protest has been called today, and as a Pashtun, he will participate. He stressed that discussions against the state should not take place during the protest or jirga, and no foreign flags should be raised at such events. The Governor expressed a desire for protesting Pashtuns to become part of the parliament under the constitution, and if they are not currently represented, their constitutional rights must be upheld.
